Roundtable

Legend says King Arthur built a round table for himself and his knights to sit at so there would never be arguments as to precedence.

Everyone was equal.

When we share what’s valuable and true to us it’s often argued and broken down into points to be disputed and disproved.

We find comfort in believing that what we know is true.

We feel safe when all we know, is all there is to know.

The comfortable and safe life is no longer satisfying to some.

There are those who believe what is known can be true but is not all truth.

Some believe it’s all for nothing.

There are people like you and me who search for things they believe exist & yet they’ve never seen.

The uncharted begs to be discovered.

Roundtable is all about what’s been left uncharted and those willing to strike out into the unknown.

All are welcome.

All are valued.

All are accepted.

All is the point.

Any ideas on a debate or video of some kind to provoke thought yet?

Here is a good one as well.. Its a debate between Dan Barker and Dinesh D’Souza. It starts here.

I like it for two reasons.
Do to the moderation and form of debate there are a TON of questions covering all kinds of topics either asked from the panel or from the audience.

Dan Barker is a former Rev. turned atheist. The manner in which he talks is very plain and straight forward, so it is accessible to everyone. Plus he is not hostile in his tone. I thought about some other debates from some other more famous people but you have..

Dawkins – Biologist and very scientific and all about evolution. If you don’t understand evolution then you will miss a lot of it. Most the stuff is accessible but usually revolves around the same scientific point.

Hitchens – Way to brash for the group I think. Though he is very convincing he has an admitted hate for religion and he can go on and on without letting the other person talk.

Harris – Straight forward too but tends to go off into more Muslim present day examples.

Dennette – Way to philosophical for many people to get plus he likes to get into terms revolving around the way the mind thinks and such.
